What happens if the last gaps in our streets are closed? What profit, how much lost is involved? When do gaps being to yawn in our memories about the process of creating gaps and the methods for their removal? Are legal gaps necessary in order to retain free spaces in the city?

Karla Sachse’s work Lücken lesen revolves around processes of the disappearance of gaps, and ways to retain them. ACUD on Veteranenstraße becomes the starting-point for a shared “reading journey”. The artist takes participants along Kastanienallee and through its side streets. At seven places, an empty frame signals a place where gaps can be read AND spoken about – places that were and are important for many people, including the artist.

If the weather is bad, the “journey” will take place in the gallery.

Cái gì xảy ra khi những khoảng trống cuối cùng trong đường phố chúng ta biến mất? Lợi ích nào và bao nhiêu mất mát gắn liền với việc này? Khi nào những lỗ hổng trong trí nhớ sẽ mở ra sự hình thành và phương pháp loại bỏ đi những khoảng trống? Những lỗ hổng trong luật pháp có được sử dụng để giữ lại những không gian trống trong thành phố không?

Các quátrình của sự biến mất và phương cách để duy trì những khoảng trống được Karla Sachse đề cập trong tác phẩm Đọc khoảng trống của mình. Phòng tranh ACUD tại Veteranenberg trở thành điểm xuất phát của một “chuyến du lịch đọc” cùng nhau. Nữ nghệ sĩ dẫn những người tham gia đi dọc Kastanienallee (đại lộ những cây dẻ gai) và xuyên qua vài con phố phụ. Ở bẩy địa điểm có một khung tranh trống chỉ dẫn rằng đấy cóthể khoảng trống sẽ được đọc VÀ được kể chuyện – những địa điểm mà đã từng và vẫn có ý nghĩa đối với nhiều người và nữ với nghệ sĩ.

Trong trường hợp mưa bão thì chuyến “du lịch” sẽ được tổ chức ở nơi khô ráo.
