Digital Tool & Health Utopia

Register here until October 13, 2021.

Hendrik mit K is a shifter between worlds – in PANZOOMIME, the art figure invites the audience to a place called “Anibody”. On the threshold between the digital and the analogue spaces, the healthy and sick avatars can no longer be distinguished from one another; utopian spaces emerge in which the glitch, this brief moment of disruption, becomes a matter of course and queers the boundaries between reality and fiction.
For PANZOOMIME Hendrik with K migrates from Instagram @dancerwithcancer to TikTok @panzoomime, from the theatre to the Volkshochschule to Mozilla Hubs. Here, a digital tool for disembodied experience of illness is created. In a specially created digital performance space, audience and performer meet as avatars. These digital interactions involve pitfalls that no longer know right or wrong. In PANZOOMIME, Hendrik mit K questions the social codes of social media and searches for a new digital label in the interface of Mozilla Hubs.
Following the performance, Hendrik mit K will talk with exclusive digital guests from medicine, the pharmaceutical industry and influcancer activism. From their expertise, they talk to Hendrik with K about quality of life, cancerfaker and medicine 4.0.

Guests: Influcancers Claudia Trick @nebenkriegsschauplaetze and Miriam Seith @mirimeer; Alexander Köhler (Commercial Strategy Manager, Oncology Breast Cancer, Pfizer Pharma GmbH), Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. Jalid Sehouli (Director Clinic for Gynaecology with Centre for Oncological Surgery, Virchow Klinikum Berlin)

Hendrik Quast

Hendrik Quast (* 1985 in Celle) is a queer action and performance artist. With a procedural concept of art, he dedicates himself to everyday practices and artisanal cultural techniques such as taxidermy, funeral floristry or nail design. In addition, there is an interest in his work in the acquisition of performing techniques such as pantomime or musical singing. The different ways of speaking and the use of materials in these cultural techniques are precisely recorded in extensive research. When transferred to the field of art, grotesquely comic works emerge. Quast appears as an inflated alter ego that follows their own language slides, logics and motivations. With this subversive comedy, the works challenge their audience to deal with topics such as the relationship between art and craft as well as social origins and (precarious) forms of work.

“Panzoomime” is a production by Hendrik Quast in co-production with prater digital. Funded by Fonds Darstellende Künste in the special program AUTONOM with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media.
