Starting September 25, the chess group and the Prater Galerie invite everyone to play chess on the Prater Galerie terrace every Friday. Participation is open to everyone; those who want to learn chess are also welcome. There are plenty of pieces and boards (and clocks, if needed). Feel free to bring your own drinks, or pick some up from the Späti or the beer garden.
Games will be played outdoors; in the event of continuous rain, the event will be canceled. It gets too cold in winter, so for now, three dates are planned: September 25, October 2, and October 9. If the weather cooperates, the series may continue.
Chess at the Prater is intended as an open meeting place for beginners and advanced players from Prenzlauer Berg and the rest of the world to play one or many games, analyze them, or just chat. You can play slowly or quickly, chat while you play or remain focused in silence, and of course check out the exhibition in the gallery—and feel free to come back regularly.
