The Exhibition Remuneration Fund for Visual Artists (FABiK) is set to be suspended in 2025, according to plans by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion. This decision will deprive many artists of their livelihood and deny the public access to free cultural events in municipal galleries.

We, the three municipal galleries of Pankow – Galerie Pankow, Galerie Parterre, and Prater Galerie – strongly oppose this suspension. In response, we have invited four artists to create posters commenting on the current situation: Felix Deiters, Kallirroi Ioannidou, Johannes Mundinger, and Marina Naprushkina.

On 28 March from 4 PM, artist Michael Wismar will be putting up these posters in front of Galerie Parterre. You are warmly invited to join us—learn the art of poster pasting from the artist himself or engage in conversations about cultural policy and art over a drink.

You can find the statement by the Working Group of Berlin Municipal Galleries on the suspension of the Exhibition Remuneration Fund here: https://kgberlin.net/kgb-home/
