(L)umbral

14.11.2025 – 28.02.2026

A Light Installation at Pforte

the eye dazzled,
trapped in space.

The word Lumbral (from Latin lumen—“light”) once referred in Spanish to the step of a house’s front door. Over time it became umbral (from Latin umbra—“shadow”), meaning both “threshold” and “entrance to everything.”

The “Pforte”(gate)—once a checkpoint between inside and outside—now becomes (L)umbral itself, uniting the contradiction of light and shadow. An invitation to pause, to look, and to doubt.

The light installation is visible from outside daily from 3 pm and open on Thursdays from 4–8 pm.
