It’s been nearly a year since we have all joined a crash course on digitality. And it’s been over a year since Fernanda Parente and Annie Berman had a proper exchange. The two – a curator and a media artist – used to have regular conversations with one another about work, sources of inspiration and what was going on in their cities (Berlin and New York). Fernanda is wondering what Annie – who has “shot” a film on Google Street View, live-streamed her vernissages via Google Glass and created films and installations in Virtual Reality – is up to these days. In this conversation, they take the stage at Prater Digital to discuss the state of the cultural scenes in Berlin and New York and to speculate about what the present mean to the future of immersive media and digitality. And maybe, cultural institutions in the metaverse, like the Prater Digital might hold the key.
