Sustainability in the Digital World – Water, Smartphones, and Us

Workshop with Sarah Maske for young people aged 11 to 15

Are you interested in digital sustainability and real change?Did you know that your smartphone and social media have much more to do with water than you might think? A Google search or a TikTok video doesn’t just consume electricity—it also uses a surprising amount of water.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how artificial intelligence and streaming services are depleting natural resources like water and minerals. Led by impact project manager and sustainability expert Sarah Maske, we’ll dive into the digital world—not just with dry facts but through exciting activities!

We’ll use both analog and digital tools, such as a water consumption calculator, and take on fun challenges to discover how we can reduce our digital water footprint without giving up social media. You’ll get creative and develop solutions to make your digital habits more sustainable.

Teamwork and fun are guaranteed! Together, we’ll explore how smart apps, useful tips, and sustainable choices can make a real difference. So join us and let’s shake up the digital world!
